Tune In To Hear And Relive The Days Yesteryear!
Tune into 107.7 The Bronc Retro on Friday, December 13 at 9 p.m. for WRRC2’s first-ever, live radio show, Riding Retro
This new program looks to enthrall its listeners and give them a sense of what the world was like, and how far we have come, from the days of yesteryear. Riding Retro will highlight the many facets of the world in any given year from 1950 to 1999.
Your host, Jason Barnes ’25, will focus on a single year every episode and look back on a range of categories including: music, tech, fashion, travel, world events, and news within Riding Retro’s many features.
The songs and artists selected will depend on the year covered in each episode. Jason will highlight the many musicians and songwriters who contributed to the growth of the music that would become the soundtrack for many of us.
From the greatest vocalists down to the hottest bands of that year, Riding Retro looks to acknowledge those who have graced us with their gift of music. Echoing from formats likes cassette tapes, vinyl records, Compact Discs, and streaming services that we can never let go.
Through their art we kept hope, and now we keep the music coming with Riding Retro on Friday, December 13 at 9 p.m. exclusively on 107.7 The Bronc Retro.
Jason Barnes is a Radio and Podcasting major at Rider University. My story begins in Youngstown, Ohio where my love of music and entertainment began at a very young age. Growing up I was actively participating in performing arts such as choir, band, theater, and so much more. I always had the urge to entertain people and it is no different today as I have actively held my own student show on 107.7 the Bronc over the last few years. The funny thing is, I originally was set on majoring in Computer Science, but my love of the audio field and entertainment pointed me in the direction I am going in today. I’m happy to say that I and a few of my fellow Rider students at the The Bronc are currently developing The Retro Station’s first live student show “Riding Retro.” You can tune in to hear about music, food, technology, fashion and more between 1950 and 1999. So I’d like to say “Come all, come more, hear the times we explore” on Riding Retro with me, your host Jason Barnes.
