IBS Media AwardThe nominations are in and we’re heading back to the Intercollegiate Broadcasting Systems Media Awards!

Our students and staff work hard, both on and off the air. Last year, our staff was recognized with two big wins in NYC and 11 nominations spanning 11 categories.

Our very own Wake Up Rider took home the gold for Best College Morning Show as well as everyone’s favorite campus-wide event, The Eggscellent Egg Hunt for Best Giveaway!

This year, our eight nominations span multiple categories, including Sports, Contests and Promotions, On-Air, and Best Radio Station.

Our award-winning morning show, Wake Up Rider, is nominated for two more awards this year!

First-time IBS nominees include: Jake Goebel ’28 and Dan Loges ’28

Find out if we take home the gold on Saturday, February 21, 2026 when we travel to New York City for the IBS Media Conference and Awards inside the Sheraton Time Square.

Best Celebrity or Artist Interview

RJ, Brian, Ellis and Owen of Wake Up Rider  interviewed Glenn Philips from the legendary alternative band Toad the Wet Sprocket to promote their concert at the CURE Insurance Arena on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

107.7 The Bronc’s First-Ever Radiothon

Last March, 107.7 The Bronc hosted their first-ever radiothon, which lasted 74 hours and raised $56,000. 

The executive staff  was joined by current members of The Bronc and WRRC alumni to provide 74 consecutive hours of live content.

Every year, 107.7 The Bronc holds a contest where graduating students enter a video to win a car, and this year we added a cruise, and $1,000 cash.

Last year was our 10th anniversary for this contest and we really made waves!

Scream Screen X Poster by Jake Goebel ’28

Jake Goebel is a sophomore Graphic Design major and one of 107.7 The Bronc’s team of graphic designers. 

His work for our 10th anniversary of Scream Screen was so terrifyingly good, it was nominated for a 2026 IBS Media Award!

Wake Up Rider’s Morning Bagel Run and Jewelry Spree

Wake Up Rider’s second IBS Award nomination in 2026 is for their Morning Bagel Run and Jewelry Spree, underwritten by Caesar’s Bagels and Deli and Peroni’s Hidden Treasures, where Wake Up Rider surprises a morning class or campus office with 18 bagels, 2 tubs of cream cheese and butter, and coffee live on-air. At the end of each semester, one lucky student wins a $300 gift card to Peroni’s Hidden Treasures in Mercerville.

Apprentice’s New Music by Dan Loges ’28

Dan Loges is a Sophomore Music Production major and one of three production directors at 107.7 The Bronc.

107.7 The Bronc WRRC-FM is the official college radio station of Rider University, which has around 4,000 undergraduate and 2,000 graduate students. 107.7 The Bronc WRRC and The Bronc Retro WRRC2 has 124 participating students, which is 3% of the student population.
