On Wednesday and Thursday, October 28 and 29, be prepared to save up to three lives by giving a pint of blood!
In conjunction with one of 107.7 The Bronc’s biggest campus events, Scream Screen, this is a moment for students and staff to give back and help out! With almost 100 expected participants, let it also be known, that everybody that attempts to donate blood gets two jump passes to Sky Zone for 90-minutes of jumping, and a little plushie! And, one lucky student will win a $200 Visa gift card at the end of the drive.
WHAT’S NEW!!!???
This year we are doing things a bit different! We are accepting walk -ins and with the Scream Screen Blood Drive a little over three weeks away, we already have over 50 students, faculty and staff registered; the most sign ups we have ever had this early! We are also partnering with New Jersey Blood Services, one of the top blood donation centers in the state!
What To Do Before You Give Blood?
According to Student General Manager, Kadie Digiuseppe ‘27 you need to “Eat. Eat. Eat. Eat high protein foods. Chicken, turkey, eat a big lunch sandwich before going. Stay hydrated. Drink water, vitamin water, eat food high in iron as well. It only takes ten minutes for the process of donating. After you donate, stay for a little and enjoy free snacks.”
Why is it called the Scream Screen Blood Drive? Well…to promote it! Scream Screen is one of Rider University’s biggest campus events! By promoting and tying this event into Scream Screen it’s a win-win for everyone! It strategically allows The Bronc to inform our listeners about the blood drive while also keeping people in the know about the Spooktacular event on October 23 we call Scream Screen! (Vote here for this year’s movie!)
Donate To Help Save Lives!
For the faint of heart, DON’T BE SCARED! Giving blood is a fast and quick process. I was assured by Kadie “The needle doesn’t hurt! The most it is is a small pinch! It’s totally painless and you’re saving a life! You have nothing to lose!”
Click here to sign up for the Scream Screen Blood Drive now! It’s for a good cause, it’s painless, and you get free snacks, jump passes, and a plush!! Who could deny that?!
